WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY BE DOING ON MY DAY OFF?

During the morning, you’ll spend a little time with each of the resources in the toolkit. The purpose is to keep your brain lightly engaged and to give it something new to consider. Actively managing your attention by taking some concrete actions will help you feel proactive and more in control of things and will help keep you from sliding into activities where you numb out or wallow. Lunch is up to you but no screens, please! The afternoon is more lightly scripted and focuses on spending your time in enjoyable ways that engage your brain differently than you normally do in the workweek. You’ll do an intentional transitional activity in late afternoon as you approach the normal end of your workday. Your evening is free, but you’ll actively be managing your mindset as your thoughts turn to going to work in the morning.

DO I NEED ANYTHING ELSE FOR MY DAY OFF?

Strictly speaking, no. However, the Toolkit’s guide will make some suggestions for activities that could necessitate a quick trip to the store or for you to make a reservation somewhere, depending on your preferences.

WHAT KIND OF CHANGE COULD I REALLY EXPECT TO SEE IN MYSELF AFTER USING THE TOOLKIT FOR ONE DAY OFF TO RESET?

One day certainly won’t make everything magically better if you are severely depleted.
